Today in class: Intro to Waves and Oscillations
Examples of periodic events in life...
Notes: velocity (v) (review)
, frequency (f)(cycles per second.... = Hertz (Hz)),
and Period (T) (time per cycle.... seconds)

Period is the reciprocal of Frequency, so...

1/T = f

1/f = T

Demonstration / measurement of how weight on a spring affects period and frequency of bounce - oscillations: More weight on spring: greater period, lower frequency. (non-linear relationship)

Demonstration of how slinky - waves investigation will go tomorrow; working in small groups and analyzing/measuring factors about waves.

Reminder: Cumulative Exam on Wednesday (next week!!) Time to start studying old missed test questions and skimming through notes!
